Christian Brückner reads Cage

Christian Brückner probably is Germany's best known voice. Usually he synchronizes stars like Robert de Niro, Harvey Keitel or Peter Fonda, but this night he devolves himself to two works of the American composer and artist John Cage.

With „45' For A Speaker" and „Indeterminacy" John Cage created two texts which face the performer with huge challenges. Exactly defined rates of speaking, instructions on articulation, small theatrical actions and the high philosophical value of the pieces make them unique. According to John Cage's preference for combinations of his works Christian Brückner interprets these texts simultaneously with different compositions for piano and strings by the composer.

CAGE100 is the one year lasting, international art and music festival, which the Forum of Contemporary Music Leipzig hosts in honor of the 100th birthday of John Cage. After more than 100 events in more than 30 countries, CAGE100 celebrates its last round in Germany in WERK 2.
